RdL (aka mondii & naph)

東京を拠点に、2000年にmondii（モンディ）とnaph（ナフ）によって結成。当時は７人組だったが、現在は２人組として活動。結成して翌年にはアルバムデビューが決定するものの、メンバーチェンジや各自の活動が忙しくなり、ようやく2009年7月2日に待望のファーストアルバムをリリース予定。これまでにStaubgold（独）, Weather（日）, Odd Shaped Cases（米）等のコンピレーションに楽曲を提供。メンバーのmondiiとnaphは個別にも様々な音楽活動もしており、mondiiは、米Hefty Recordsからフルアルバムをリリース後、国内外の20レーベル以上に楽曲を提供、MTV中国用のCM音楽なども制作。また自身でSPEKK, PLOP, Lanternレーベルを主宰。バルセロナのSonarやモントリオールのMutekなど大型フェスティバルやアジア・ツアーなどにも参加。またデザイナーや英語の翻訳家としても活躍する。naphは、これまでゲームやＣＭのBGM制作を中心に、様々なレーベルのマスタリングやミックスなどエンジニアリングを手掛 け、2008年にはチャラのバックでシタールを務めるMinakumariのファーストアルバム「Rasa」をアレンジ、ミックス。 Kool Keith "The Lost Masters Volume 1.2" (JP) 2009のマスタリング。Motohiro Nakashima"We Hum On The Way Home"(JP) 2009のミックスなど幅広いジャンルに渡って活動。またTurquoiseレーベルを主宰。naph名義での環境音をテーマにした音楽制作活動。ツジコノリコと制作した楽曲「Gooopie」制作。2009年Opitopeの畠山地平、FLOWER TRIANGLEの高西知泰とバンド"All The Frogs Are Our Weekend"結成。バンドのコンセプトも明確なパート分けもないが、自然・宇宙・音など、あらゆる「場」に溶けていくような感覚を求め、様々な楽器や音を本能のままに鳴らし構築していく。

Formed in year 2000 by mondii and naph. They started out as a 7 piece band but eventually, they are active as a duo now. Soon after the band was made, they got a record deal from a Japanese record company P-Vine but because of the few member changes and the hectic daily life, it took nearly 10 years to complete their 1st album which will be out on July 2nd, 2009 (P-Vine). They have previously participated in compilation albums on labels Staubgold (GER), Weather (JP), Odd Shaped Cases (US). They also organize the multi creation company Nature Bliss Inc. Both members also work as solo. mondii has released his 1st album on Hefty Records (US) and also provides tracks to over 20 labels worldwide. He also makes music for TV commercials such as the recent MTV China BGM (2009). He also runs labels SPEKK, PLOP, Lantern and has showcased his labels at international festivals such as Mutek (Montreal), Sonar (Barcelona), BEAF (Bellingham), Qwartz (Paris) and in Asian countries Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau. He also regularly works as graphic designer and English translator. naph has been making BGM for computer games and TV Commercials and as an engineer, he has mixed/mastered/arranged/co-written many tracks&albums including Tujiko Noriko, Mina Kumari, Kool keith, Motohiro Nakashima, Alejandro Franov, Apple Light, Lily of the Valley etc. He also plays in the band "All The Frogs Are Our Weekend" with Chihei Hatakeyama aka Opitope (Kranky/Room40) and Tomoyasu Takanishi aka Flower Triangle (Novel Sounds). RdL has no certain musical concept nor instrument roles but justs plays and make sounds by instincts to form "something" while aiming to capture and melt into any sounds, situation and environments.
